The MyState Australian Wooden Boat Festival has all the elements of a summer celebration by the sea. Held on the island-state of Tasmania across the city of Hobart’s vibrant and bustling waterfront, the four-day festival brings together the largest and most beautiful collection of wooden boats in the southern hemisphere with more than 200,000 people attending to appreciate them.
The USA is the ‘Featured Nation’ at the 2019 Festival. Two shipping containers of US designed boats will be shipped and on display. Sean Koomen, Chief Instructor at the Boat School, will bring a team of Boat School alumni to Australia two months ahead of the festival to build a Haven 12½ that will be ready to launch at the festival.
