For 36 years, the Northwest School of Wooden Boatbuilding has been committed to providing a quality education in traditional and contemporary wooden boatbuilding that develops individuals into craftspeople. We strive to impart practical knowledge through hands-on education using wooden boats as a training medium. The School offers a 12-month Associate of Occupational Studies (AOS) Degree and a 9-month diploma in one of three programs offered: Traditional Large Craft, Traditional Small Craft, and Contemporary Wooden Boatbuilding. These programs provide students a broad range of skills for careers in a variety of marine industries. The school is accredited through the Accrediting Commission of Career School and Colleges (ACCSC) and is designated a Veteran Supportive Campus by the Washington State Department of Veteran Affairs.
Students are accepted on a rolling basis so applicants are encouraged to submit applications as soon as possible. All programs begin in October 2017.
