Lead Marine Systems Instructor

Come help build future marine systems technicians! The Northwest School of Wooden Boatbuilding (NWSWB) is a 43-year-old vocational training school in Washington State seeking a Lead Instructor for its 9-month Marine Systems program. You’ll build on an innovative hands-on training program in a new state-of-the art 4,800 sq ft building with state-of-the-art equipment. The school provides a path to living-wage work for young people and career changers who are facing escalating costs of higher education and meets a critical need for skilled craftspeople and technicians in the marine trades.  You’ll work with highly motivated students from a wide variety of backgrounds.

Role of the Marine Systems Lead Instructor

  • Oversees teaching and management of the accredited full-time nine-month Marine Systems Diploma program.
  • Fulfills the school’s core mission by providing a high-quality educational experience using methods such as lectures, demonstrations, student feedback, homework assignments, and hands-on projects.
  • Models using industry standards in safety, and practicing craftsmanship, communication, and project management.
  • Serves as a collaborative member of the school’s leadership team to ensure quality programs and effective student learning.
